Student Base
Welcome to our section for students studying undergraduate law, the Common Professional Examination, Legal Practice Course Private Client elective and for those on the STEP England and Wales Foundation or Diploma in Trusts and Estate. The content is not for the general public.
Hello! My name is Julian Palmer. I am a consultant solicitor to a number of firms around the UK. I am a lecturer and examiner for the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) lecturing in the UK, Isle of Man, Monaco, Switzerland and Singapore to name a few places. I have previously been a principal lecturer at the University of Birmingham (honorary) and at De Montfort University where I taught upto LLM level. I sit on three technical tax committees at the Law Society and also write for LexisNexis Butterworths/Tolleys, contribute to Atkins Court Forms and I am a consultant editor for Halsbury’s Laws of England.
Here you will find useful blogs, revisions notes and musings on points of law that I hope you will find useful in your studies.
Please register below. It helps with content if I know my audience so it is really helpful if you could include the university and course you are on, if applicable. For STEP delegates please just put STEP F or STEP D. If you are studying either of the STEP programmes in another jurisdiction please add the letter O.
